Surrounded by the power of nature and new experiences – you will learn vital skills, expand your awareness, tackle challenges, while gaining lifelong friends and exceptional memories. This is heartfelt, hands on and supportive nature connection where you can feel the freedom and joy of your ‘one wild and precious life’.

Wild Time offers young women aged approximately 12-15 years an opportunity to learn alongside experienced and qualified outdoors women, to deepen their sense of self, to build confidence, self-worth and recognise strengths and talents
Paddle under the stars, make your own drum and burning fire, create art in the woods, climb tors and moors learn new skills and share adventures and stories by the campfire and much much more……
This is not your typical summer camp. This outdoor-based programme for 12-15 year olds aims to help the girls navigate this important time in a supported and mentored way. Led by a team of experienced wilderness mentors, participants will safely experience the physical challenges of canoeing, moorland walking and campcraft as well as the interpersonal themes of self-reliance, group dynamics, and creativity.
5 journeys will explore different themes; intention, power, relationship and body connection. The 5th weekend will mark and celebrate the journey toward wholeness.
6-9 APR: Setting Intentions – looking at what we have walked to be here and setting intentions for the future. Community building, natural horsemanship, making a drum, bushcraft and adventure
1-4 MAY: Power – Learning to light ones fire – bushcraft, natural horsemanship, shelter building, nature connection activities, fire time, art and story telling
3-5 JULY: Relationship – a two day canoe journey with night paddle. Nature connection activities and wild camping
28-31 AUG: Body Connection – set in Dartmoor. Sensory awareness, navigation skills, moor walking, solo and group activities to explore the theme of body/ earth connection
18-20 SEPT: Celebration – marking the journey taken with a Rite of Passage Party!!!!

The camps are in beautiful wild locations in Devon, including the forest, moor and by river

Motivated by a desire to explore and connect with people and wild places, Israh has travelled extensively. Her journeys have included travelling the Silk Road, trekking in New Zealand, the Middle East, Central America and Europe, and recently she completed the Pacific Crest Trial, a six month trek through wilderness from Mexico to Canada. She is a qualified Mountain Leader and trained in Outdoor Environmental Education, and has lead expeditions in the UK and Africa. As a trained midwife she has worked with remote tribes in the Afar region of Ethiopia and in Zanzibar’s government and bush hospitals. Her passion for the world outdoors began as a child living in Arabia, India, Turkey and Spain and now at every available moment, walks, climbs, canoes and kayaks.
Maren Freeland’s care for the earth has led her on a life path of inquiry and action towards a sustainable culture. She’s a founder member, resident and educator at Landmatters Permaculture Co-operative (www.landmatters.org.uk), an off-grid community that aims to inspire positive change. Maren is actively involved in women’s work, following a year-long program exploring the cultivation of the authentic empowered feminine. As a mother of two, Maren’s parenting is informed by Parenting by Connection and the Art of Mentoring (nature connection). She completed the Outdoor Leadership course run by Schumacher College and WildWise, and has long-standing experience in facilitating educational events. Maren deeply cherishes the sense of belonging gained by re-connecting to the wild and each other and has a passion for facilitating such experiences.
Janet started sharing her lifelong love of nature by leading young people with special educational needs on residential trips camping in the woods, walking sea shores and gorges , sailing and night walks. A qualified teacher and counsellor with a Jungian orientation she has more recently worked with women’s groups engaging with the sacred landscape, visiting The Hebrides, Ireland, Transylvania and the Arctic. Janet is a drum maker, is passionate about social justice, having run a fair trade shop for 20 years and now lives in Devon keeping fjord horses and working with her herd to offer equine assisted therapy.
